XTill® Strip Till system
arrow_backTo the overviewMultiple passes across the same field require time and fuel and increase the pressure on the soil. The XTill® Strip Till system combines soil cultivation and optional slurry incorporation in a single pass. This reduces the number of operations and places the nutrients close to the plant roots.
With the Strip Till method, only the strips in which the crop will be established are cultivated. Deep loosening, seedbed preparation and slurry incorporation are completed in the same operation. The areas between the rows remain undisturbed and covered with crop residue. This helps protect the soil against erosion, compaction and evaporation while preserving its capacity to absorb water.
The cultivated strips warm up quickly, creating favourable conditions for germination and crop growth.
Targeted slurry placement
The XTill® VarioCrop Strip Till system can be adjusted to row spacings from 45 to 75 cm and used for different row crops, including maize, oilseed rape, sugar beet and sunflowers.
Slurry can be placed at a depth of between 10 and 25 cm. The system can also deposit slurry at two different depths simultaneously. The DosiMat DMX precision distributor ensures accurate and even distribution to the individual rows.
Targeted placement makes the nutrients readily available in the root zone and reduces the risk of nutrient losses. It can also reduce the requirement for mineral fertiliser.
Consistent working depth in changing conditions
Each tool unit is mounted on a parallelogram to maintain a consistent working depth. Clearing discs remove crop residue from the cultivated strip, while hydraulic stone protection allows the tines to move upwards in the event of an overload.
The press wheels shape the seedbed and provide the required reconsolidation. The frame folds hydraulically to a transport width of three metres, while working widths of up to six metres are available.
Benefits of the XTill® Strip Till system:
Soil cultivation and optional slurry incorporation in one pass
Targeted nutrient placement close to the plant roots
Fewer operations and lower time and fuel requirements
Adjustable row spacing from 45 to 75 cm
Working widths of up to six metres
Consistent working depth and hydraulic stone protection
Reduced risk of erosion, compaction and evaporation
